The Irish loved it so much, they fashioned their famous shamrock symbol after the shape of its leaves. And someone dedicated a whole suit of common playing cards to clover — ace of clubs, anyone? In recent centuries, red clover has gained favor among herbalists. Native Americans, Russians, Chinese and Europeans have all used red clover for various wellness issues. It is thought to contain some antioxidant properties.
