Raspberry (fruit and leaves)
Rubus idaeus

From ancient Greece to native America, people nearly everywhere have found a multitude of ways (or excuses) to use raspberries. These little jewels would have been popular for that tantalizing taste alone, even without all the herbal lore they have amassed over the past 2000 years. One of raspberry's contributions to humankind, in fact, has been making medicine taste better. This botanical treasure has other virtues, though. Often included in teas and herbal remedies, both the leaves and fruit have astringent qualities, which can soothe the stomach. Raspberry leaf tea has gained a strong reputation among herbalists as a beneficial beverage for women, in particular.
