Black Cherry (bark)
Prunus serotina

Also known as a wild black cherry or choke cherry, the wild cherry tree is indigeneous to North America, where it grows from Florida all the way up to Nova Scotia and as far west as Nebraska. Early colonists learned about this 90-foot tall tree from Native Americans, who used its bark during cold season and to soothe and calm. Colonists adopted these uses and added a few of their own. Contemporary herbalists often recommend wild cherry bark for cold season. You may find this herb especially soothing when the weather is cold and dry.
