For 40 years, Celestial Seasonings has made healthy teas for a healthy planet. Today, we’re continuing that commitment to the environment by supporting Conservation International and their “Protect an Acre” program. Because you share our concern for our planet, we developed a fun and meaningful way for you to help us preserve critical habitats – and learn about yourself in the process.
Our PossibiliTEAS Facebook quiz brings the symbolic characters on our Green Tea boxes to life. Just by answering five thought-provoking questions, you'll learn which of our iconic figures you’re most aligned with and receive that character’s guidance and inspiration.
But the quiz is more than just fun – it’s also a way for you to help protect a precious natural resource: our tropical forests. When you take the PossibiliTEAS quiz on Facebook, we’ll donate $1 to the “Protect an Acre” program – up to $50,000 in all! Saving an acre of threatened tropical forest only costs $15 – so when you and 14 of your Facebook friends take the quiz, you’ve protected an acre.
Who Is Conservation International?
- Conservation International (or CI) is a non–profit organization that seeks to protect unique and threatened ecosystems around the globe.
- Building upon a strong foundation of science, partnership and field demonstration, CI empowers societies to responsibly and sustainably care for nature for the well-being of humanity.
- CI’s work occurs in more than 45 countries, primarily in developing nations in Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Central and South American rainforests.
What is the “Protect an Acre” Program?
- Around the world, 32 million acres of tropical forests are lost every year – accelerating the rate of species loss and devastating surrounding communities. In response, CI initiated the "Protect an Acre" program.
- "Protect an Acre" allows individuals to protect the world’s threatened tropical forests one acre at a time.
- Celestial Seasonings online users and their friends can preserve an acre of tropical forest just by taking the PossibiliTEAS quiz on Facebook.
- In the last 21 years, CI has conserved more than 143 million acres of forests – equivalent to taking 10 million cars off the road.
